A guide to support available in Lambeth during the cost-of-living crisis

With the ongoing cost-of-living crisis impacting on the financial, physical and mental wellbeing of many residents in Lambeth, we've put together a list of organisations and resources that may be able to offer some support. We will update this page regularly with organisations and support services in Lambeth. Food

  • Lambeth Larder - Social enterprise Lambeth Larder has compiled an excellent resource page on how to get support with fuel bills, emergency fuel vouchers. Its Money Issues section is particularly useful. 

  • Alexandra RoseAlexandra Rose is a charity which provides access to healthy and affordable food. It's Rose Vouchers scheme is available at several Lambeth locations
  • Lambeth council's website provides information on food banks in the area alongside other health-related guidance. The council has also developed a website, Community Solutions, to support residents during the cost-of-living crisis. 

Finance & Energy

  • Cash First Referral Leaflet for Lambeth – In partnership with IFAN (Independent Food Aid & Network), Lambeth groups have created new Cash-First referral leaflets to signpost local people to help and support. You can download the leaflet or use the online form. You can also order free printed leaflets.
  • Household Support Scheme – The Household Support Scheme is open to all Lambeth residents with a household income of less than £30,000 per year. You no longer need to be on benefits to apply for the funding. If you have applied for the Household Support Scheme within the past 6 months but require further support for food and utility bills, you can still apply.   • Money Saving Expert Hardship Fund ListMoney Saving Expert has compiled a list of energy suppliers offering hardship grants for people experiencing fuel debt. Visit the Money Saving Expert website.
  • Warm Spaces in Lambeth – There are now Winter Warm Spaces  Lambeth for anyone who cannot afford to heat their home during the day in various locations around Lambeth including Brixton, Streatham, Clapham and more. Visit the Lambeth Council Warm Spaces Directory for further details.
  • Warmer Homes Programme – Get ready for winter now. The Warmer Homes Programme offers free energy efficiency grants of up to £25,000 to households with an income of up to £20,000 per year after rent/mortgage and council tax. For details, visit the Warmer Homes Programme webpage.
  • Age UK - Age UK has put together a useful resource which explains what support you may be entitled to as well as the names of services that can provide advice, information or food support. 

Mental Health

Mind provides Lambeth- and Southwark-specific resources (some of which are mentioned above) in addition to its general resource pages provide information and guidance to support mental health.
