Mental Health support in Lambeth

It is normal to feel worried during these difficult times. For some people, especially those who were already dealing with anxiety, depression or other mental health challenges, these times can be particularly hard.

It can be helpful to stay in touch with friends and family over phone, messages or online. But there are times where you may need more information or professional mental health support too. Though the early Pandemic restrictions have now been lifted, many will still need to self-isolate this winter with Covid-19. Here is some guidance from the NHS to help protect mental wellbeing while staying at home.

If you are in crisis

For example, if you are feeling like you are likely to harm yourself or others, you can contact any of the following support, 24 hours a day.

South London and Maudsley NHS Crisis Line

Certitude - Solidarity in a Crisis (peer support service)

A free out-of-hours phone service for people in crisis. They run a Crisis Peer Support out-of-hours phone line for those in crisis, run by peer supporters with lived experience.They also offer a Community Crisis Support, a short-term crisis peer support service aimed to help people to avoid A&E. The peer supporters have lived experience of needing mental health support, and have been trained to support others. “We listen and give crisis support via Skype, text and social media.”

Lambeth & Southwark Mind

Lambeth & Southwark Mind offer an information line about services, groups and other support avialable. 

0203 982 9221 and select option 1 (10am - 5pm from Monday to Thursday)

Mind has also launched Side-By-Side, an online community that allows you to interact with others and share your experiences of mental health.


Lambeth Carers Hub

Mental Health Peer Support for people caring for individuals with mental health needs. Fortnightly meeting via Google Hangouts which can be accessed by calling in, or via computer and smartphone.

Lambeth Council has launched a helpline for people in Lambeth who are vulnerable, don’t have support, and urgently need help. This helpline allows us to identify those who need our support in addition to the information the council holds.
